Who is Dwyfor Tech?
Dwyfor Tech is a tiny company focusing on making modules for the Eurorack synthesizer market. All of our modules are hand-made with love in the UK.
Dwyfor Tech was founded by Dr. Dan Phillips, a self-taught electronic hobbyist with a PhD in something totally unrelated, who has spent over a decade on the backbenches of the retro-computing, analogue synth and magnetic recording media communities. Dwyfor Tech is the manifestation of his desire to share his passion for historic electronic technology.
We bring to life ideas of the 70s that never actually happened, using components and design fundamentals that would have been commonplace at the time.
Our Design Philosophy
- We draw our inspiration from the more unknown synth manufacturers of yesteryear, rather than Moog, Roland, etc.
- All of our products use through-hole components and socketed DIP ICs, and ship with full printed schematics, for maximum user reparability and modification.
- Our designs will never be 'perfect', but they will be full of quirk, life and character.
- We embrace obscure but plentiful new-old-stock components that were initially intended for use in radio, TV or hi-fi.
- We will never just sell you a straightforward clone. There will always be a twist.
